Be thankful for your homes...

         We thank You, O heavenly Father, for all the blessings that have; come to our home because we know You as our Father in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. Your divine love has radiated into our home and made it to be to us the dearest spot on earth, a place where we are loved from our earliest breath to our very last. O Father, help us to value these blessings forever. Give us grace that we may live so close in the fellowship with You, as to be enabled to reflect Your love and Your goodness into our home-life. Make our homes, by Your presence, places where we: may go grow strong, can learn to cope with life's problems and may we continually return to for rest and comfort, for physical and spiritual food. We would glorify You in our home so that everyone who enters in may know that You are the ruler there. Amen.

Praying for your enemies...

       Lord Jesus, we pray not for riches, neither for long life. But we do pray for the lives of our enemies. Let us bring such an influence to bear upon them that thru our efforts they will recognize You as the Redeemer and will dedicate their lives to Your service. Give us wise and understanding hearts so that we may judge the good from the bad, the just from the unjust. Fill our souls with love for our Creator and for our fellowman. Let there be no veiled motive in our lives and let our actions and our words ring with sincerity of purpose. Accept the worship which in humility of spirit we give You. We ask this in Your name. Amen.

Pray for One Another

Pray for One Another
I cannot tell why there should come to me
A thought of some one miles and miles away,
In swift insistence on the memory,
Unless a need there be that I should pray.

Too hurried oft are we to spare the thought,
For days together, of some friends away;
Perhaps God does it for us, and we ought
To read his signal as a call to pray

Perhaps, just then, my friend has fiercer fight,
And more appalling weakness, and decay
Of courage, darkness, some lost sense of right;
And so, in case he needs my prayer, I pray.

Friend, do the same for me. If I intrude
Unmasked upon you, on some crowded day,
Give me a moment's prayer s interlude;
Be very sure I need it; therefore pray.

A prayer for self-control...

Lord Jesus, when we sin, we pray
That You wilt blot our sins away.
Let not a trace of them be found
Upon our heart's most holy ground;
But in their place reign You instead,
O, may we by Your hand be led.
We ask this in Your Holy Name. Amen
